Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo

By Super Searcher

Just the name prepares you for what I consider the most hilariously ridiculous anime I have ever seen. Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo follows a very unlikely band of “friends” who end up in fights with an evil group called the “hair hunters.” The main protagonist would be the man himself, Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo (but call him Bobobo).

Bobobo is a man of mystery, and the dude with a major attitude. He’s pretty tall and well built. His most catching features are his golden afro, the sunglasses he always wears, and the nose hair that he fights with. Yes, you heard that right – he has super long whip-like nose hairs.

After Bobobo come the next two major characters, Beauty and Don Patch. Beauty is the young, cute anime girl who asks to follow Bobobo after he saves her from the Hair Hunters. Shortly later they meet the infamous “Wigen Gang” leader, Don Patch. After these three there are many more supporting cast members, some who stay around for a long time, and some who don’t.

The anime’s plot line is nearly forgotten after the first episode. Sure there’s always that lingering “the Hair Hunters must be defeated” story, but Bobobo and the gang end up in many, many random fights with many, many random folks. Some of whom end up joining the group.

The anime itself runs for 76 episodes spanned across three seasons. Each episode is about 30 minutes long, and chock-full of pure weirdness. Again this anime is made to be strange, unnatural, and downright crazy. So if you’re a more serious-anime person, you’d best steer clear. But if you’d like to see a talking torpedo girl, then you should probably watch this.

All in all, I’d give this anime a rating of 10/10, plus Jelly Jiggler’s lucky hankie. (Watch the anime to figure out what that is.) You can watch Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo online here: http://www.animeplus.tv/bobobo-bo-bo-bobo-anime
